Barcelona has a large district in its center called Eixample that was designed by Ildefons Cerdà. It’s a strict grid pattern crossed by wide avenues, and square blocks with chamfered corners. In his original design, at least one side of the block was to remain open and gardens would be built in the interior space; however, that didn’t happen and the blocks were sealed off. Still, it’s a unique city with beautiful architecture and walkable streets. Here’s a nice aerial view of the Eixample District in Barcelona.

We recently had some pretty cold weather in Dallas. It snowed for a couple of days and temps got down to 1 degree Fahrenheit. White Rock Lake almost completely froze. It was beautiful from up high and in some parts looked like an alien landscape. Enjoy!

The beautiful decay of this abandoned hotel in Hot Springs Arkansas is awesome! Apparently, part of it burned down/was torn down... that's the pile of rubble next to it. Would love to explore inside of it one day :)
